Santa Cruz

We loved Santa Cruz! Although it was a little chilly, it was so neat to be with Jeremys' grandma and see the cute town.

These weird jacks were so cool.
The gorgeous ocean with an overcast sky
There were really cool rocks along the shore
The cutest little amusement park, and RIGHT ON THE BEACH! How cool is that?
 We love Grandma Bowe!
The puzzle we completed in one night! Hoot Hoot!
 See you later Grandma Bowe
 Thanks for the visit!
We'll be back soon!

Happy Santa Cruzin'!

The Mystery Spot

Our next stop in our California coast trip was Santa Cruz. We were so excited to see Jeremys' grandma and to do some neat things around Santa Cruz! One of those things was going to the "Mystery Spot". Its this little area up in the mountains where gravity and forces are just a little weird. Balls roll uphill, tall people appear shorter, and things just feel and look really weird. We had a great time being there together. I wore terrible shoes and kept sliding down the hills and the little Chinese tourists had to help Jeremy with getting me up the hills and on the crooked surfaces. Quite embarrassing but put some big smiles on lots of peoples faces :)

Note: We are not leaning in any of these pictures
This picture is the weirdest of all! I'm not leaning at all.
Jeremy volunteered for a demonstration. He represented the tallest man :)

We are on a completely level surface, why does Jeremy appear taller in one??

Happy Optical Illustions!

1st Anniversary; AKA 2nd Honeymoon

Jer and I decided that we are still in the newlywed stage, since we continue to say, "For our honeymoon..." when it is our Anniversary. We decided that we always want to be "Newlyweds"; crazy about each other and so excited for each day together.

For our honeymoon we went to a bed and breakfast in Santa Barbara. Our first honeymoon was in a bed and breakfast in Pennsylvania, so we decided to make it a tradition.

It was BEAUTIFUL! We were about .5 miles from the ocean and the place we were staying had complimentary bikes to ride. We had a complete blast riding our bikes on the coast, eating at a yummy sea food place, and spending time together :)

When we entered our room for the night, they had some sherry for us. We both laughed and used the cups for some fancy water :)
Getting ready to walk down the pier.
 I love this man!
The ocean was so beautiful. Santa Barbara is a gorgeous place!

Since I was a little girl, my Grandma Gail has told me the story of "Little Black Sambo" and "Tiger Butter". When I found out there was a restaurant chain about the story, and the original and only one left was in Santa Barbara, I told Jeremy we had to go! I was so pumped to try the tiger butter! In reality its just plain old butter, but it felt magical eating it in "Sambos"!

Happy Honeymoons!

L.A. Adventures

While in California, my family and I decided to take Jer to some of the sights he hadn't seen before. We went to Labrea Tar Pits, Griffith Observetory, and outside of this really cool art museum. We also drove down Sunset Boulevard and Hollywood Boulevard to see the craziness of LA. It was so fun and we got quite a bit of fun pictures!

Happy California Sight Seeing!
