Goodbye Hector, Hello Ruby

On Jeremy's drive back from D.C., Hector, our gold corolla, decide he was done with driving, and us, and  life, that he gave out when Jeremy was  200 miles away from Utah. After a 50 mile tow and inspection, we found that Hector's engine had blown, and we could sell him for scrap for $100. Poor Hector.

Jeremy was stuck over night at a run down motel in the middle of Wyoming. Luckily, I was borrowing the schools car so I could go pick him up. We left Hector there, and our key in the box with this sign on the door....
Real classy motel, I tell you...

Although it was sad to say goodbye, we were happy to welcome our new car, Ruby the Honda Civic into our lives. We love the automated locks, that the handles work on both sides, and that the ceiling is not caving in on us.
We will forever remember Hector,  our first car, but are excited for new adventures in Ruby! Yay!

Happy Car Purchases!

Pink Hair

I really wanted to put some red  in my hair for a bit of a change along with the blonde. When the colors were washing out, they blended together and made a pink! Yep, I had some pretty pink hair going on. I became nervous about starting school in 2 weeks with pink hair (didn't think that was too professional). Luckily, with a lot of pink baths, most of the pink faded in time to start school.

Happy Pink Hair!

Oregon DI Conference

My new job flew me to Oregon for a week long conference on Direct Instruction. I absolutely loved my week there. I learned so much and met some absolutely amazing people, like Siegfried Engleman (for any of you DI junkies:).We stayed at the Hilton and have fun being in Eugune,Oregon. I am so blessed.

 Ticket to Oregon
They had these fancy glasses and punch EVERYWHERE around the hotel. I felt legit.
Some of the fun art work around Oregon
What would be a trip to Oregon without VooDoo Doughnuts!

Baltimore Bed and Breakfast

I finished my "Teaching Elementary School Music" minor this summer at Vilanova University. It was a beautiful campus with some wonderful people. The course was two weeks, so in between, I headed back to Maryland and Jeremy and I went to a bed and breakfast in Baltimore. It was so relaxing and beautiful. It has a little history too, once belonging to President Wilson and being the place where he accepted his presidency.

Gorgeous D.C.

I've decided if I am every going to  live in a huge, HUGE, city, it would be D.C. I love it there. I love the clean feel of the monuments and the reminder of how much our country has gone through. I feel like we dont' hear it that much any more, but I am proud to be an american and live in this beautiful country. Yes, there might be a lot of bad going on, but there is sure still a lot of good :)

Happy Traveling D.C.!
